<div style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">Madison's life is just a series of failures! She's 29, soon to be 30 and a single mother to a three year old, but her life is a total mess! All she does is constantly changing partners (wonder if she ever heard of AIDS??) and seems she's always attracted to the wrong ones, guys that will just use her and dump her.

Madison is probably the craziest book character I've read about ever! What you're about to read in this book are not just her confessions and mistakes (and boy, she makes many mistakes in life), but her battle to finally overcome some things that keep bringing her at the very bottom. Life was definitely not easy for her, and though you will probably be amazed (or disgusted) by her slutty behavior in the beginning, she will grow on you, if you just give her a chance (at least that happened to me while reading the book).

By leading you in her past, the author will reveal the reasons for Madison's behavior and all the nasty things that damaged her personalty.
All Madison really wants is to be loved, simple as that. She needs attention and affection, don't we all? And though I really didn't approve her behavior and choices throughout the book, I must say I was cheering for her and hoping she will really make something out of her life.

This is a story of a girl who's in desperate need to reinvent herself, story about all the crazy stuff she did, all the pain she's to overcome. I did have few laughs and must say this is really an entertaining read, but though the primary intention of it may be to entertain us, maybe we should look for the message behind it. It's been few weeks now that I read the book, and I really needed to "digest" everything, however I will never forget Madison.
She's one of these book characters you either love or hate. Ok, if love and hate are strong words for you, better to say Madison is someone you will either like or dislike. In my case, it turned out I really like her, but not cause of her wild spirit, or the fact she seems she doesn't care what everyone thinks of her. No, I liked her because I felt the fragile, caring Madison who will unselfishly give everything to those she loves.

I know I'm not supposed to reveal a lot about the plot, especially the ending, but I will just say..GOD, the ending brought tears to my eyes! This is really an entertaining read, but also an emotional one (at least it was for me). I read it in just couple of hours, cover to cover, and definitely recommend it to all chick lit fans. However, there are some phrases and mentions of the "F bomb", so I wouldn't recommend it to readers under the age of 18.

It is more 3.5 stars, but will round it and just rate it 4 stars.

"My name is Lawrence, I'm in my late forties and I am single! It sounds like an introduction line from an AA meeting, but it's true!
How did I manage to stay single until such a late age without getting married, you ask? Well, some friends tell me I'm the luckiest dude living on this planet, but some say I am missing something. "

Ok, what is this book about? It's about Lawrence, a man in his late 40s and his quest for the one. After breaking up with the love of his life, Lawrence is trying to get back into "the dating game". While this game may be fun, it also has lots of rules and signals one has to decode. So, Lawrence is on a quest, trying out different dating sites and social medias to approach a normal, caring, loving woman..THE ONE! Is he going to find her?

It was such a fun reading about Lawrence and the many humorous situations in which he finds himself in. First off, so far in my history of reading I don't recall reading a book like this. A book which offers a man's perspective on dating. I never really thought men analyze us women so much.:) Lawrence is comparing dating to battlefield, which is also a comparison I couldn't exactly relate to, but then again, it could be the fact it's been long time since I've dated.

However, I found this book very original, funny and entertaining. I read it in just few hours and really liked Lawrence. He might seem a bit bitter at times (at least that's my opinion), but you can feel he DOES care about love and women. I sometimes thought he cares even too much, trying to decode everything a woman does, or tells him, each message or e-mail he gets.

Overall, reading this book was quite an experience. I was literally cheering for Lawrence and hoped he will find the ONE. Will he? Oh that's something you have to find out for yourself:) I sure hope I will read more from Mr Fisher soon.
<div style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif; text-align: justify;">
Wow, what a fantastic book! I'm thinking about the genre...it's really hard for me to classify this book. WHY? Well the story involves mediums and ghosts, and a part of me says this could be a romance with paranormal twist, but then again... The story just seems too real and there's a lovely message hidden, so another part of me would classify it as a spiritual read, book about life and hope.
Hmmm, but the point is, no matter which genre I classify it in, it's an amazing book, which without any doubt I will re-read again and probably, again enjoy the story.

I so wish I had read up on the subject of the afterlife. Is this the way it's supposed to be, or am I doing something wrong? Whatever happened to angels and clouds? I ask myself. Wasn't I supposed to have a helper to greet me and show me the ropes?

Her name is Mya, and she just discovered she is no longer alive! Well, she did see the light and the tunnel, so she assumes she entered the other dimension. Afterlife? She never really thought of that, and sure wasn't prepared for this. Is she a spirit, a ghost, can someone see her, hear her, tell her family what happened to her? That's when Laurel enters the picture, she's a medium, though she really hates the fact she has this weird "gift" of talking to dead people. She starts communicating with Mya, though she can't see her, but can always feel her presence and lead long conversations inside her head. Spooky! But why is Mya communicating with Laurel? Is there a reason why this spirit is attached to her?
At first, Mya is very confused, she has no clue how she ended up in this new dimension, she seems to remember her family and bits of her life, but really has no idea what happened to her that brought her to this "state". Is Laurel supposed to help her "cross over" in peace, or is Mya there to change Laurel's world?

Dan is Laurel boyfriend, he's sweet, protective, absolutely lovely. But lately he and Laurel seems to grow apart, until the inevitable happens - they break up. But Mya feels she can't allow this to happen, she believes these two are meant to be together. Will she be capable of bringing them back together?

What an amazing story! Each of the characters in the book is telling a bit of the story, revealing things about their lives, relationships and feelings. As you approach the end of the book you will understand what were the reasons that brought Mya to that "state" and what was her "mission". There were few plot twists that absolutely took me by surprise, I really had no idea the story would go that direction. The characters are so vivid, you will feel like being in the same room with them (or talking to them in your head - Spooky again!:))
This is the first book by Linn B. Halton I've read, but it's definitely not going to be the last one. Actually I'm really really looking forward to reading more from this author. Will talented Linn B Halton surprise me with another interesting story about Afterlife? Oh I sure hope so! Excellent book that will warm your hearts, and make you wonder.. Are things happening to us fate, coincidence or part of a greater plan?

"You can play, you can make your choices, you can think you have total control. But who controls the paths that converge and who decides which moment in life is a truly defining one?"
Is this book really a debut? *goes to get the book from the shelf. Checks the cover. Doesn't believe her eyes!*
OH-MY-GOD! this is really a debut! Clare Stephen-Johnston began writing fiction in 2008, and Polls Apart is her first novel - says the cover. But trust me, when you read it you gonna be as surprised as I am, because you will have the feeling this is the 10th book the author has written!

World of show business and politics... within these worlds there is no reality, only illusions.

Politics, affairs, sex scandals, intrigue... this book has it all! Anna Lloyd is a 37 year old actress married to Richard Williams, the leader of Social Democratic Party (SDP). Richard is running for a Prime Minister, but things gonna get really nasty as newspapers start revealing some very unpleasant news about his wife's life. Anna really had a tough childhood, growing up with a mother who was alcoholic and being left by her dad when she was only 8. As if this isn't already a tragedy, her stepfather is staring to sexually abuse her and her sister Libby. Life seems a real hell for Anna and her sister, abused everyday and no sign of their mother to help. What a B**** their mother! The girls are forced to defend themselves and one day they kill their stepfather. They spend 2 years in Juvenile Center, but this is actually first time in many years they finally feel free. Now, many years later, all of this is back to haunt her because of her husband's elections and the political enemies who are trying to make him resign and quit the elections.

Is power more important than love? Is politics gonna end up a happy marriage and destroy two people that love each other and share the same dream?

This is a fantastic political thriller, fast paced and absolutely intriguing. I thoroughly enjoyed it and think Clare Stephen-Johnston is amazingly talented author with a unique writing style. I never liked politics, and this book just prove to me what I already knew - There's nothing more important in life than love and family. What I admired the most is the fact the author puts so much life into her characters (especially in Anna's character). It's really easy to relate to her, to feel her pain, and I have to admit, while reading the parts about the abuse, I had tears in my eyes. It's just so so sad and frustrating to think there are many women out there who experience the hell she's going through. In the beginning, Anna seemed wild, rebellious, free , but as you get to know her history you will start seeing her in a completely new light. She's not a survivor you want to pity, she's a FIGHTER!

This book is a real page turner and without any doubt I recommend it to everyone! I really hope Clare will surprise us soon with another fantastic, gripping book. I sure can't wait!
<div style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif; text-align: justify;">
Seems EVERYONE has been talking about this book lately! SERIOUSLY! I really HAD to check it out and see WHY everyone seems to like it! Boy... all these bloggers that absolutely loved it ARE RIGHT! Pyxis is freakin' incredible book!
<div style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif; text-align: justify;">The story is very original and I found the characters pretty much realistic, normal, average teenagers any person could relate to. The story is centered around Corinne Finley, who discovers one day she has a strange family history. Under very strange circumstances she discovers her grandmother's little treasure, a wooden box with PYXIS engraved in old fashioned capital letters containing strange bottles of liquids. Are they food dyes? Because after all, her grandmother did like to bake. Now we come to the mystery part!
She starts having strange visions of her grandmother Doris telling her to use these liquids to cure her twin sister Dorothy, who had a stroke same day Doris died. Hmmm, are these weird stories about twins' connections real?
The story gets more complex as Corinne, Angeline and Mason (oh the cutest little thing ever) discover PYXIS is not just a wooden box!
Pyxis, Guardians and Shields...This story will blow your mind and make you read this book in one sitting!
<div style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif; text-align: justify;">
I really loved this book! The story is very original, well written and the characters are well developed. The mystery/paranormal element just adds to the story and will keep you wanting to know what will happen at the end! Corinne is an amazing girl, a girl you would like to be your friend (or daughter), she's intelligent, brave and has a big heart. Her friend Ang is fantastic! She's her Guardian! As for Mason, he's simply adorable..very mature and uber cute! Now that I mention Guardians and Shields..what a fantastic symbolism!!! Our friends are really our Guardians and people we love (our partners) are really our Shields, protecting us form everyone and everything! ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC BOOK you won't be able to put down! Molly Parker used to be a DWAG (Darts wife and girlfriend). After finding out that her husband, famous pro dart player Paul “Bad Lad” Parker is also a naughty lad behind her back, she decides to divorce him. I admire the fact she had the courage to start a new life and have her smile back so soon after the divorce. I loved her energy, optimism and big heart. As for the two men in this story… oh they will really get you crazy. I admit, I didn’t like Paul at the beginning. Are you one of those that at least reconsiders that there might be more out there... "something" different, "something" not everyone can see with their eyes?

The story is centered around Camilla, a 44 year old woman. She’s a medium and she has experienced her first spirit encounter when she was 16. It is the spirit of her grandmother that brings her to Rosehill, a place that hides many dark secrets…secrets she has to reveal!
“You will find more civilization in this house than you could ever wish to find anywhere else. Believe me, you’re meant to live here. You have so much to learn about your life and it all starts here in ROSEHILL.”
Camilla is one strong lady, however she’s having difficulties in finding new friends, because being a medium is usually considered by many as "not normal".

Marcus is the local vicar and someone who’s willing to get to know Camilla better. Soon their friendship develops into a romantic relationship. However, their true and deep feelings don’t change the fact they have different beliefs.
“He communicates with God, she communicates with the dead”.
Is it possible for such a relationship to work out?
I really enjoyed "Discovery at Rosehill". Mrs Brown managed to create an original and very interesting story with romance/mystery/paranormal elements. I also loved how things were developing, the gradually built up tension and the twist at the end which took me completely by surprise! I think Mrs Brown created lovely characters to which readers can relate, though they might not believe in spirits and ghosts. As for the main character, Camilla, I am fascinated by her. She’s strong and independent, and well aware of her powers which she treats like a gift, not a curse. She knows what her purpose in life is and is completely devoted to it - helping others, friends or strangers, even angry spirits who can’t cross over.

Though it’s a fiction book, it really felt too real! But then again, it’s not really easy to say when reality ends and fiction begins, right?
<div style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif; text-align: justify;">
I've said this lots of times, but I'm going to say it again. I just love chick lit books and stories about rockstars.
George Fraser has her own catering company Finger Foods, of which she's very proud of. Yes, George is a female, and that's short for Georgina.
She's a 34 year old woman, very mature and organized, but I guess life taught her to be that way. Everything in her life changes one day when she's offered to cater for Quinn Blake's after show party. Quinn is surely an outstanding specimen of masculine perfection! He's handsome, hot, super famous and of course, stalked by women constantly. Though George is really trying to stay professional, Quinn seems to have other plans. For how long will she be able to resist his charm? Is it possible that someone as hot and famous as Quinn could be after someone as George? She's gorgeous of course, but she's not a celebrity, so are there any chances for such a relationship to work out?
Well, things will get complicated and some parts of their personal history will be revealed. This is actually the part of the story that I couldn't predict. A twist you definitely won't see coming! Some say chick lit can be predictable to a certain extant. However, that's not the case with Strings Attached, believe me!
I've heard great things about this book, and I must admit I was expecting a fun and lighthearted read. But the story of Quinn and George is BEYOND everything I thought it would be! The passion, that intense chemistry between George and Quinn, is something that will grab you from the start. I really liked both main characters, but (of course, I am a woman;) I ABSOLUTELY LOVED Quinn. He is definitely a character you won't be able to forget.
The normal girl meets a super celebrity - sounds almost like a modern version of Cinderella. :)
As for Mrs Baggot's writing style, I'm really fascinated by it and I'm pretty amazed how she managed to keep things between her hero and heroine so intense and interesting. And most importantly, I really CAN'T wait to read more from her.
<div style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif; text-align: justify;">
<div style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">Bull at the Gate is a warm contemporary read full of romance, passion and magic!
Alexander "Bull" McKinley is a corporate shark and ruthless when it comes to business. However, this young and attractive capitalist will have a hard time persuading the villagers of Bower Magna to give up their inheritance, The Fairy Gate. The Fairy Gate is the oldest part of the village and it's very significant for the locals. There is an interesting story behind it, according to which the Gate was built by Fairies and if destroyed, bad luck will befall the village and all its inhabitants. A myth? Superstition? Whatever it is, the locals are not giving up on it, and strongly protest the idea of destroying the Gate for the purpose of building some modern apartments.
Dee Ashman, a local girl is the toughest of them all. To her and her grandmother the Gate is a symbol, their identity and Dee is determined to stop Alex in his intentions.
And everything would be fine if she didn't start falling for this "calculating, ruthless, intolerant, judgmental" businessman. You know that Paula Abdul's song, "Opposites Attract"? Yes, the song is old but Paula couldn't be more right about this, at least when it comes to Dee and Alex. Will Dee and Alex change the history of the village or create their own history?

I really enjoyed this book! It's one of those books that will warm your heart and make you believe in magic! Dee and Alex are both strong, tough characters and it was such a fun reading their dialogues, and I really enjoyed all the passion (and tension) between them. Mrs Jones managed to create equally strong hero and heroine, something I rarely see in books. Despite the fact that at times Alex seemed ruthless, I really liked him. I especially loved the relationship between him and Charlotte, his 7 year old daughter. I also loved the story about the Gate and it's mysterious powers. Overall, I definitely recommend this book to all romance lovers, and I'm looking forward to reading more from Mrs Jones.
<div style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">Kate sure is having the worst day of her life. She wakes up next to a stranger, no clothes on and no memory of how she ended up there! But to make things worse, she thinks she is 17 years old, while the mirror shows a mature woman in her 30's. She has no idea what's going on, why is she naked next to a stranger and how the hell did she age over night!
<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">Jake, the guy she wakes up next to, tries to explain to her how he found her in front of the bar he works in and how he didn't take any advantage of her "situation". While trying to fill in the blanks of those 15 years she doesn't remember, he starts growing feelings for her. As for Kate, she may not remember who she is, but she definitely likes her hero Jake. BUT things are starting to get complicated as another man enters Kate's life claiming he's her husband and proving her she's not Kate, but Donna Merrill, from Ottawa, a CEO with a successful business!! Will she remember her old life, or continue being Blank Slate Kate - a woman with no memory, but one that can become anyone she wants?

<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">I absolutely LOVED every page of this book! I literally couldn't stop myself from reading it, though I was sure I would be very very sad when I finish it. What I loved the most about it is the fact I couldn't really predict where the story will lead me! It's a perfect chick lit book, intelligently written with characters you will definitely love! The mystery element got me absolutely hooked and I just couldn't wait to find out which path will Kate (or is that Donna) choose. I assume it's too early to say this, since it's January and 2012 has just started, but I am absolutely sure about this - Blank Slate Kate is definitely one of the BEST books I read and will be reading in 2012! Mrs Wardell is an amazingly talented author, and I can't believe this is her 8th book written, but the first one I actually read. What was I doing all this time?? Anyway, one of my New Year's resolutions is READ ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING HEATHER WARDELL HAS WRITTEN SO FAR AND ANY BOOK SHE WILL WRITE IN THE FUTURE!
<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">With absolutely no doubt, I recommend this book to all romance and chick lit fans. Hmmmm, actually I recommend this book to EVERYONE! Yes, that's better!:)
All Libby ever wanted was for her son, Max to have the best education. She and her husband are not rich, but willing to sacrifice and invest in their son's future. Libby and Ned are on Cloud 9 when they find out their only child, Max is accepted at Manor House Prep School. But education at a prestigious school costs a lot, and Libby and Ned are starting to worry, and feel stressed, especially Libby.
But this charming and sweet mommy has more problems..Mainly the other women, mothers at the committee, new tasks, events to attend, not to mention the fact she has to put up with snobs and Gestapo mommies. But at least she has Fenella, who is rich but not a snob, so they create a lovely girly bond and a deep friendship.

I really enjoyed every page of this book! Wow, I think it helped me realize I LOVE British chick lit and British humor. I must admit I wasn't familiar with some of the phrases, and I had to check them online, but I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It's witty, original and I just loved Libby. It was pretty much easy for me to identify with her on many occasions, her fear for being in a completely new world where it seems she doesn't belong. But she is lovely, and I shall quote Lou (Libby's old friend) - Libby, they may have money, but you have class!
I absolutely love the friendship between Libby and Fenella, and the way they support each other, though they have different backgrounds. As for the humor, it's absolutely fantastic! Libby is a hilarious character, positive, sweet and absolutely someone you would want to be friends with.
This is one of those book that guarantees you hours of laughing and complete enjoyment. It will also get you hooked from the very first page! The sequel is now out (as kindle) and I am really really looking forward to reading it. Mrs Egan sure got me addicted to her writing style and the adventures of lovely Libby.
<div style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif; text-align: justify;">
Clarke's debut novel. All I really knew was that the book contains paranormal elements. But, now after reading it, I have to say I'm impressed!
The book is actually mystery/thriller with a bit of paranormal and it's a very enjoyable fast paced read. The story follows Rebecca, who's daughter disappeared three years ago,but she is starting to have strong visions that will lead her to many discoveries. Dan Cooper, former FBI agent who worked on the case previously but gave up the search, is deciding to help her out again. This time, they are on to something!

A body of another girl is found..
Another one is missing...
Rebecca's daughter is older in her visions, could it mean she is actually alive?

I have to say I'm a character driven reader, I want to "feel" the characters and relate to them. Well, the author sure succeeded in creating an original story with well developed characters. Being a mother myself, I could totally understand Rebecca's pain and her struggle to find Sabrina, and I sympathized with her greatly.
This sure is one of those books that will get you hooked from the first page, suck you in the story completely and leave you sad when you're done reading... because you would want to read more!
There is an adult content, I have to warn you on this (especially the younger population), and I found myself blushing few times, but even the romance parts were well written and implemented in the story just perfectly.
Finally I would like to thank the author and the R2R Program from PNR&UFF group on Goodreads for generously offering me a copy of this book. I really enjoyed it and I am looking forward to the next installment. Since I got this one as an e-book I will most definitely buy the paperback as well because I know I would LOVE to reread it again and have it in my collection of books.
<div style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif; text-align: justify;">
Wow, what a story!
Winscott & Associates is one of the largest and most successful accounting firms in Arizona. Five years ago the partners have voted and have chosen Olin as a managing partner. This is probably the biggest mistake they've made in their lives...a mistake that will shatter their comfortable positions at the Firm and maybe even endanger their reputation and lives!
Olin is cruel, lying, arrogant bastard..but he's always been that way. Everyone at the Firm is familiar with the fact he is manipulating people, especially women, offering promotions and a partnership in exchange for sex. Five years ago, just prior to settling as a managing partner, he found the "wrong" victim - Audra Tanner.
Cruel, powerful, rich, man with insatiable libidos, mistresses, ex-wife's, rape, murder..this story has it all!
Five years ago Audra was raped by Olin...
Five years ago they've all heard her screams but neither of them helped her.
Five years she waited for the right moment to destroy "The Elite" and this time they are all going to pay!
While reading the blurb of the book I assumed this story will be centered around Audra, but I must admit I was tricked (in a good way of course). Ashley Fontainne created a complex thriller with many interwoven stories. Each of her characters tells a story explaining their relationship with Olin, revealing a bit of Olin's nasty and cruel nature. I must admit I was fascinated by this!
Ashley created a profound thriller that will grab you from the very first page! I don't think I ever hated a book character that much in my life, but it's not because Olin was not well developed...on the contrary, he feels too real and it seems all evil is placed in him. I really love Ashley's writing style and her knowledge in human psychology. This sure is a book that deserves to be made into a TV series or a movie. Speaking of movies I already thought which actor could play Olin..

If you're looking for a fast paced read, with action/mystery/thriller elements, this is the PERFECT read for you. The author is currently working on the sequel and I am really looking forward to reading it.
Ok, before writing down my review of this AMAZINGLY FUN book I want to have your attention and just briefly tell you what this book focuses on.
<div style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif; text-align: justify;">1.
<div style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif; text-align: justify;">
<div style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif; text-align: justify;">So, if you mix all these three you get a sweet romance story, placed in one of the most romantic cities in the world, Paris! Of course I have your attention now, but trust me..the story just gets better and better.
<div style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif; text-align: justify;">
<div style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">Melissa is a 40 and something year old and just caught her husband cheating on her. The man whom she was married to for more than a decade and whom she thought was the love of her life. Angry, hurt, disappointed, she decides she needs a new life far from LA and Brett-the son-of-a-bitch who broke her heart. So bye bye LA - hello New York!!!
<div style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">She moves in with her friend and finds a job at trendsetter. com as a journalist. It's not a job she is crazy about, but she needs every buck to get on her feet.
<div style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">But when you least expect it, chances appear. Jess' life is not easy. Being a single parent to her 14 year old son,after losing her husband means she is in charge about everything. This means working a lot just to put some food on the table. No wonder she feels exhausted, having two jobs, a teenage son and no partner to help her out.
Jake Thompson has just moved into the neighborhood, coming to this town so he would "heal" his wounds and recover from a disastrous relationship.
One can say, both Jess and Jake have been hurt enough in life. But Christmas is a time for miracles to happen. They both have been mourning and suffering for far too long.
Will they rise from ashes just like a phoenix?

This short and sweet story is not only about love, but about family as well. I really felt sorry for Jess and everything she's been through. She is a lovely mother, warm and caring. My heart was really breaking when I was reading certain parts of the book.
My only complaint would be that the story was too slow paced for my taste in the beginning. However, I enjoyed it! It really made me think of life, priorities, second chances, forgetting and forgiving.
Definitely would love to read more by Mrs Kiyono.
<div style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif; text-align: justify;">
I want to thank the author and the R2R program for giving me a copy of this book.

Reviewing this book is really going to be hard for me. WHY?
If you check this book on Goodreads you will see it as part of a List BOOKS THAT GET YOU HOOKED. Well, I agree, this book got me hooked from the very first page, though I am not really sure why. Now don't go judging me, but I personally don't think the story is original, it did remind me a lot of TWILIGHT, and I did have some issues that bothered me a lot. But before explaining the WHY's for not thoroughly enjoying this book, let me say few words regarding the plot.

Maddie just moved to a new town to live with her grand-mother. She is a senior attending the local High School, and of course, she feels like an outcast. Everyone out there seems to belong to a group, or already has a lot of friends. Two months after her arrival, Chase Donovan, also a senior starts attending the same school. He seems to like her from the very first day, though he is not quite sure why. Dougal Lachlan is the weirdo, the creep that is constantly stalking Maddie, staring at her for hours and making her feel very uncomfortable. From the very first day he arrives at the school, Chase becomes Maddie's protector, getting even into a fight with the weird Dougal guy.
Why does he feel so over protective over a girl he'd just met?
Well sure, it could be love..but it could also be the fact that Maddie is THE KEY.
Gryphons, mythological creatures, nightmares, shifters and of course, romance..this book has it all.

And now I come to the part "why I rated this book 3/5?"
First thing that bothered me was the plot resemblance with some other paranormal books. I don't know, it just didn't feel the story was original (though there were Gryphons involved).
But what bothered me the most were the dialogues between Chase and Maddie, and some of the other reviewers seem to "see" this as a problem as well. Well, Chase and Maddie are supposed to be 18, but somehow I felt them as they were grown ups. What I love the most in YA books is the teenage spirit, behavior, problems, way they act when in love..well, in this book it seems like the characters were not developed in the right direction. They surely don't seem like teenagers to me (or am I just old fashioned? Hmmm) .
Despite the flows I think the book has, I did enjoy it, especially the first half of the book. The second part I found a bit slow paced.
So, do I recommend this book? Well...YES.
Would I read the sequel 'Mara's Secret'? Oh absolutely!
<div style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">This is a short, yet sweet romance story about Meg and Adam. Meg is managing a clothingstore, while <span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">Adam <span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">is a part of a lifeboat crew and specializing to become a doctor. There are sparkles between them, yet Meg just doesn't allow Adam too near. Her father, a fisherman, drowned when she was a teenager, and she would really be crushed if she sees another man close to her heart lose the battle with the waves.

<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">But Adam doesn't give up. His affection is just too pure and sincere to back up. Will he manage to win Meg's heart?

<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">This is indeed a sweet Christmas story. I've been wanting to read something from Nell Dixon for quite some time now, and I am really grateful to the author for sending me a review copy of this sweet read.

<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">I could understand Meg and her fear to get into a relationship with Adam. And Adam..Oh he is really adorable, protective and warm person.

<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">I really enjoyed this book. I am a big sucker for romance stories, especially Christmassy reads. Oh well, I am already feeling the Christmas Fever:)

<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">It is a short and enjoyable read, the only problem I had with it was at times it appeared slow paced. However, I am really looking forward to reading another book from Nell, especially Renovation, Renovation, Renovation. "If you have something precious and fragile and you keep it locked away like a little plant trying to grow into the darkness, well, it'll die and your secret will turn into regret. Love needs to be in the light of day. A secret love will eat itself and die, or eat your heart and kill you."

This is a story of a 35 year old woman, Eilidh, who's life is torn to pieces. After many attempts to have a baby, she and her husband Tom finally succeeded. She waited for so long to feel that joy, to feel those little kicks of the new life that is growing inside of her. Yet, she was not destined to have that baby. Shortly after the miscarriage, she finds out that her husband Tom is cheating on her, and that's when she decides..she needs a new life! A new life away of the painful memories, away from the failures.
She is off to Glen Avich, this little place in Scotland she used to live when her mom and dad had marriage problems. There, she is reconnected with Jamie, once a friend..but could it be she is starting to grow feelings for him?
Both Jamie and Eilidh have been very unfortunate in their love life, and they have both lost faith in love. But Destiny has plans for them, plans they are both not even aware of.
Even when it seems everything is lost, help can come from the most extraordinary places!

Oh, I don't think I will ever be able to express with words how much I enjoyed this book! Maybe if you were able to see the river of tears I cried while reading it, you could understand me. Eilidh is such a loveable character, so unfortunate, yet so strong.
I could be Eilidh..
Every woman could be Eilidh!
It was really easy to relate to her, and to feel the pain she is going through. But oh no..you won't be sorry for her, you will admire her! She is a fighter, someone you would love to be your best friend or a relative. I look up to her, for her strength to pick up the pieces of her broken heart and head towards a new life.
For even when the womb is empty and the heart is broken, hope is the last to leave. Make sure you never let it go, because When you let go off hope, you have nothing!

"Watch over me" is a debut novel by fantastic Daniela Sacerdoti. Funny, but while reading it, I didn't have the impression this is the FIRST book Daniela has written. I absolutely enjoyed every single page of it! By all means Daniela is a talented storyteller and someone that will surely conquer your hearts!
Finally I would like to thank Daniela and her publisher for sending me a copy of this book. It surely is a diamond I am going to keep forever!
<div style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif; text-align: justify;">
Pru Bailey has just found out that Laura Bailey isn't her birth mother, but her mother's relative that adopted her when she was 5 years old. She inherits a house by her real parents and is on her way from California to New England to see the house. But the house is haunted by the ghost of Jane Adams, her birth mother that was stabbed to death by her father. At least, that's what the rumors say and the police who didn't really have much evidence, except the fact that Mr Adams committed a suicide after. The logical explanation was that it was a crime of passion and the reason for it were their marriage problems.
<div style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif; text-align: justify;">
However, Pru is suddenly having visions that will revel the mystery of her parents death.

I did enjoy this read, though it's a novella, and I rarely read novella's because I know I will have some issues mostly because they are too short and the author doesn't have the "space" to express him/herself. Yes, I had the same feeling with this novella too. It felt like the story would have been more interesting if there were more pages to it.
What bothered me the most is the romance element in this book. It just felt like it was added during editing..Let me explain, I didn't mind the romance scenes and I am not saying they are not well written, but somehow felt they were introduced too early. What I loved was the mystery and action element in the story, that's what made this novella interesting to me. It felt like watching and episode from "Ghost whisperer" and I love that series.
It is an easy and enjoyable read, and I would like to thank the author and the R2R program for giving me a copy.
<div style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif; text-align: justify;">
<div style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif; text-align: center;">
